Polk R100 sound technology
The R100 uses a 1-inch Pinnacle Ring Radiator tweeter designed to provide clear high frequencies and broad dispersion. Its waveguide helps create a wider listening area, while the rear chamber is engineered to reduce unwanted resonance. A 5.25-inch Turbine Cone woofer combines a rigid surface with low moving mass to support accurate midrange reproduction and controlled bass.
Polk’s rear X-Port is designed to manage port resonance that can mask midrange detail in conventional bass-reflex designs. The result is intended to preserve vocal and instrumental clarity while extending low-frequency performance from a relatively small enclosure.
Amplifier matching and room use
Polk recommends amplifier power from 30 to 150 watts. The speaker is compatible with amplifiers designed for 8-, 6- or 4-ohm loads, with a specified minimum impedance of 3.6 ohms. A well-matched integrated amplifier or AV receiver will help the R100 deliver its best balance of dynamics, detail and bass control.
The compact format is well suited to small and medium rooms. Positioning the speakers on stable stands, allowing space behind the rear X-Port and adjusting toe-in toward the listening seat can improve imaging and tonal balance.
